Updates

How do updates work?

Updates are a crucial part of Vape Client. They are what keep the client up-to-date with the latest features, bug fixes, and more.

All updates always have been and always will be free, per product line. This means that if you purchase Vape V4, you will always have access to the latest version of Vape (4.17, 4.18, 5.0, etc). The same goes for Vape Lite.

Vape Client has two types of updates: Content Updates and Silent Updates.

Content Updates

Content Updates a collection of new features or functionality served under a new version number (like 4.17, 4.18, etc).

This can range from new modules, settings, gui components, quality of life changes, version support, or anything else noteworthy.

Every content update is documented in changelogs

Silent Updates

Silent Updates are updates that are not documented in the changelog or directly announced in any other way.

This primarily includes bug fixes, performance improvements, or any other critical changes.

In the case that an anticheat detection needs to be resolved, this would be fixed under a silent update and silently released as soon as possible - never as part of a documented content update.

Beta Version

You may opt in to use the beta release of Vape V4 by enabling Use Beta on the account page of the Vape Client website. No re-download is required, just relaunch after enabling the setting.

This version of Vape will include experimental changes that might become part of future updates. This is a great way to test new features and provide feedback to the development team.

Note that the beta version may contain bugs and unstable features which may be risky for you to use. We don't recommend that you enable this unless you are comfortable with the risks involved.
